The 100 Million Meals campaign, which provides food support in 30 countries, including Palestine, announced the allocation of an additional 19 million meals to the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the United Nations World Food Program, which will handle the logistical operations to distribute them in the Strip.

The campaign provides additional food support in the Gaza Strip in the form of instant vouchers, equivalent to 19 million meals, and allocates them to individuals and families with the lowest income, and to those affected by the recent events in the Strip, in coordination with the World Food Program, to ensure access to the widest segment of the people and displaced people who were forced to leave their homes In the past two weeks, about 77,000 have taken refuge in schools and United Nations headquarters, in addition to about 40,000 have taken refuge in the homes of their friends or relatives in the Strip.

The campaign of 100 million meals, organized by the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives", allocated nine million meals last Ramadan to be distributed in Palestine in the form of instant vouchers, in cooperation with the World Food Program, which distributed the largest part of them so far in the West Bank.

The new contribution to the 100 million meals campaign raises the number of meals it provides in Palestine to 28.3 million meals, providing nutritional support to individuals and families, while cooperation between the World Food Program and the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” facilitates the delivery of food aid to the needy, the affected and the least income, and direct food aid to them.

World Food Program statistics indicate that two million Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip suffer from some form of food insecurity, with 1.4 million in the Gaza Strip and 600,000 in the West Bank.

Al-Nuaimi added: “About 70% of families in the Gaza Strip suffer from food insecurity, according to the World Food Programme, and the additional food support provided by the 100 Million Meals campaign is a message of solidarity from the UAE with the most affected groups.”
