"Syria condemns in the strongest terms the systematic attacks on the Republic of Belarus and interference in its internal affairs by the United States and other Western countries," the agency quotes a statement from the Syrian Foreign Ministry.
It is noted that Syria expresses its full support and solidarity with Belarus.
The ministry also called on the international community to stop "attacks by the United States and its allies", which "pose a serious threat to international peace and security."
Earlier, the chairman of the executive committee - executive secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergei Lebedev said that the prime ministers of the CIS countries at the meeting in Minsk unanimously expressed support for Belarus "at this difficult time."
