• Album Cumbre Alba at the christening of Rosario Fitz-James Stuart

New meeting of the

Casa de Alba,

this time in

Seville

and with historical significance.

Rosario was

baptized

,

the first-born of the

Dukes of Huéscar

who in the future will become the

XXI Duchess of Alba.

The first appointment was at the church of

San Román,

the one that was the headquarters of the

Hermandad de Los Gitanos,

with which the House has always had such a relationship, especially through

Doña Cayetana.

Shortly after eight o'clock in the afternoon, the Dukes of Huéscar arrived with little Rosario, dressed in a beige-colored dressing gown familiar to the Alba family, and showing wide-open eyes without losing any detail.

Despite the numerous cameras, Rosario did not flinch, as if she was used to such a commotion.

Her mother,

Sofía Palazuelo,

chose a dress in the same tone as her daughter's baton, belonging to

Inés Domecq's IQ

collection

,

with details on the shoulders similar to those of the dress that the Jerez woman wore at

Carlos Fitz's

wedding.

James Stuart and Belén Corsini

just a week ago, together with coral-colored high-heeled sandals, matching the stone of the earrings.

Fernando Fitz-James Stuart,

Duke of Huéscar, wore a navy blue suit with a light blue shirt, like his father, the

Duke of Alba.

The ceremony, short and without mass, was officiated by the priest

Ignacio Jiménez Sánchez-Dalp,

who married the Dukes of Huéscar, the Counts of

Osorno

last week and the longed-for

Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart with Alfonso Díez.

As godparents,

Blanca Barrera-Cuadra

-friend of Sofía and creator of the Aguacatte catering- and

Beltrán Palazuelo

-the Duchess of Huéscar's younger brother-.

During it, there was the intervention of the Choir of the

Parish of Santa María de las Flores

and

San Eugenio Papa,

of which

Sánchez-Dalp

himself is parish priest

,

who commented that he felt "privileged to have been able to see these children grow up and to have accompanied the family in their births, weddings and farewells of loved ones ".

And a general comment: Rosario had been very good.

The church of San Román did not have floral ornamentation for the occasion;

the altar, the usual.

And the baptismal font, the same one in which the Duke of Huéscar was baptized in 1990.

Hot

The only negative note happened due to the effects of the heat, which caused Fernando Martínez de Irujo to suddenly feel unwell and had to leave the ceremony before it was over.

In San Román numerous guests gathered, who began to arrive around seven thirty in the afternoon.

Eugenia Martinez de Irujo -

dressed by

Jorge Vázquez

- arrived accompanied by her daughter Tana - with a design by Inés Domecq - and by her husband

Narcís Rebollo.

The newlyweds Counts of Osorno, Carlos Fitz-James Stuart y Solís and Belén Corsini also attended, in their first public appearance after their wedding on Saturday the 22nd at the

Palacio de Liria.

Bárbara Mirjan,

wearing a red manila shawl-dress with beige embroidery -design by

Rocío Peralta-

went back alone to the family appointment, since Cayetano Martínez de Irujo continues to recover from her last surgical intervention.

On the part of Alba's family,

Jacobo Fitz-James (son)

and his wife,

Asela Pérez Becerril,

with their children, and Alfonso Díez, widower of Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart y Silva,

also attended

.

There was no shortage of Rosario's grandmothers,

Sofía Barroso and Matilde Solís-Beaumont,

as well as her sisters,

Dolores and Isabel Solís-Beaumont,

and the children of the

Marquis de la Motilla as a

result of her marriage to

Carmen Tello, Fernando, Carmen, Miguel and Enrique Solís, the

latter, with his girlfriend,

Alejandra Domínguez.

After the religious ceremony, some guests went directly to the

Palacio de Las Dueñas,

where an informal dinner was held from ten o'clock at night.

The Dukes of Huéscar with their daughter Rosario, the family and some attendees went to the temple of the Valley, where the

Holders of the Brotherhood of the Gypsies, Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Salud and María Santísima de las Angustias Crowned

were waiting for them

.

It was a very emotional moment, as the Duke of Alba himself described before marching towards Dueñas.

In addition, the temple houses the remains of Doña Cayetana, the most beloved and most Sevillian Duchess of Alba.

This second part of the baptism was unforgettable for many, especially for the Brotherhood of the Gypsies.

His older brother,

José María Flores Vargas, was

waiting at the gates of the temple

to receive the Duke of Alba and the Dukes of Huéscar with little Rosario.

Once in the temple, both Rosario and her mother, Sofía Palazuelo, received the Brotherhood medal, to which both now belong.

At the same time, the Duke of Alba was awarded the commemorative medal of his 25 years as brother of Los Gitanos.

The family presented Rosario to the

Virgen de las Angustias,

as tradition dictates, entering the Virgin's dressing room, and receiving the blessing of the little girl.

During this act, a group of brothers sang the

Salve

composed by the Sevillian

Enrique Casellas

for the 25th anniversary of the Canonical Coronation of the Virgen de las Angustias, as well as two Sevillanas from Rocieras.

Shortly after, everyone was already moving to the Palacio de Las Dueñas, where the third part of this meeting took place, in which everything went as planned with the

help of the security team and employees of Alba,

who managed to make their work without preventing making theirs - and even facilitating it - to the numerous mass media gathered.

As for the rest of the guests, the list included quite a few names from Spanish society. Among them, the painter

Cristina Ybarra y Sáinz de la Maza

and her husband,

Enrique Moreno de la Cova; Carmen Fernández de Araoz; Victoria Urquijo; Beatriz Valdenebro

Marchioness of the

Torres de la Pressa

together with the architect

Rafael Manzano; Isabel de León

and

Carlos de Oriol,

Marquises of Merits;

María O'Neill Gaytán de Ayala

and her husband

Tristán Ybarra and Sáinz de la Maza; María Luisa Guardiola

and

Luis Manuel Halcón de la Lastra,

Counts of Peñaflor; the Belgian Consul in Seville,

José Antonio Ruiz-Berdejo,

accompanied by

Alessandra Gorla;

Carmen Martínez de Sola and Miguel de Rojas;

the ranchers

Eduardo Miura

with his wife,

María del Mar Fanjul,

and

Rocío de la Cámara;

and the journalist

Antonio Burgos

with his wife,

Isabel Herce, as

well as other family friends.
