China News Service, May 30, reported that after the crash landing of the passenger plane, Russian President Putin and Belarusian President Lukashenko held talks in Sochi for two consecutive days.

Putin expressed firm support for Lukashenko and criticized the EU's "double standards."

Lukashenko accused the European Union of trying to incite "civil unrest" in Belarus.

According to reports, Lukashenko flew to Sochi on the 28th and held a five-hour meeting with Putin.

On the same day, Lukashenko told reporters before the face-to-face meeting with Putin that he would show Putin "some documents" related to the emergency landing of the Ryan flight.

In addition, the two sides have also issued a series of talks on the growth of trade volume between the two countries.

Putin said that Western countries' reactions to the passenger plane incident were purely "emotional venting."

He also mentioned that the United States used the arrest of former CIA employee Snowden in 2013 for the forced landing of the Bolivian President’s special plane, referring to the collective silence of Western countries at the time, but now they hold "double standards."

Lukashenko also accused the European Union of trying to incite "civil unrest" in Belarus.

On the 29th, the leaders of the two countries continued to hold talks.

According to the Russian President’s Press Secretary Peskov, Putin and Lukashenko discussed the issue of providing Belarus with a second batch of US$500 million in state loans.

It is reported that after the talks, the two parties have reached an agreement on the transfer of the second batch of loans and the opening of new Belarusian airlines in Russian cities.

A Ryanair passenger plane made an emergency landing at the Belarusian capital Minsk Airport on May 23 when it was en route from Greece to Lithuania due to bomb threats.

During this period, a Belarusian MiG-29 fighter took off to accompany the passenger plane.

After landing, the Belarusian police took away the Belarusian opposition persons on board.

After the incident, many Western countries blamed Belarus.

The EU strongly condemns Belarus for "forcing" flights that fly over its airspace to land and arrest passengers, and prohibits Belarusian flights from flying over EU airspace.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova criticized the EU's flight ban on Belarus on the 28th, which is an irresponsible act that endangers the safety of passengers.

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency also issued a statement saying that it has informed various aviation companies that if flights from the European Union countries to Russia deliberately circumvent the airspace of Belarus due to the recent political turmoil, the Russian side may take longer to approve.
