The new proposal has come about through an agreement between the Social Democrats, the Green Party, the Liberals and the Left Party, which P4 Uppland Swedish Radio was the first to tell about.

The agreement has taken place after discussions in recent days where decisions were made yesterday, Friday.

This means that most of Blodstensskogen will be a nature reserve and the new homes - unlike the previous proposal - will instead be concentrated around Norbyvägen.

MP: "Very happy"

- We are very happy from the Green Party's side that the other parties have backed away from the heavy exploitation that was planned earlier, says Rickard Malmström (MP), municipal councilor.

- The area has biological values and recreational values that are so large that the area should be incorporated into one of the nature reserves in the immediate area so that there is a connection between them.

The construction plans were presented about ten years ago and have provoked protests since then.

The original construction plans in Blodstensskogen were stopped last summer by the Land and Environmental Court.

Among other things, with reference to the fact that Uppsala municipality was not considered to have carried out an environmental impact assessment, and that it would threaten the rare cinnabar beetle found in the forest there.
