Mali appointed interim president of the country

"The Constitutional Court of Mali has declared Colonel Assimi Goitu as interim president of the country," AFP reports on its Twitter account.

According to TASS, Colonel Goita will serve as "interim president to lead the transition process in Mali until its completion."

In August 2020, Colonel Assimi Goita headed the National Rescue Committee created by the rebels in Mali.
