May 29, 2021 The president of Colombia, Iván Duque Márquez, announced "the maximum deployment" of military forces in the southwest of the country and especially in Cali where three victims and a new wave of violence were recorded during the sixth "national strike" .



"Starting tonight, the maximum deployment of military assistance to the National Police begins in the city of Cali and in the Valle department," Duque said. The military is deployed in some of the country's main cities until the protests that began exactly a month ago end.
