China firmly opposes this.
There were questions from reporters at the meeting that the US Senate is advancing a bill to enhance the competitiveness of the US economy and respond to the rise of China.
According to the bill, the United States will increase its investment in research and development and semiconductor manufacturing.
The bill also includes measures that directly address China's human rights issues and China's influence on the United States.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Raymondo said that the Biden administration’s employment plan is "completely designed to compete with China."
