Furthermore, "the United States, in coordination with the EU and other partners and allies, is developing a list of targeted sanctions against key members of the Lukashenko regime associated with continuing human rights violations and corruption, falsification of the elections of the 2020 and the events of 23 May ".



The US administration also plans a new executive order that will give the US "greater authority to impose sanctions on elements of Lukashenko's regime, its support network and those who advocate corruption, human rights abuse and attacks. against democracy ". The State Department has issued an invitation not to travel to Belarus for US citizens, the Federal Aviation Administration has issued a notice for airlines "to exercise extreme caution when considering flying in Belarusian airspace" and the US will suspend their discretionary application of the 2019 US-Belarus air services agreement.



The Justice Department, including the FBI, is working closely on the Belarus situation with European counterparts, the White House points out. "The United States joined in public condemnation of the May 23 events at the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the G7 and NATO.
