The man to whom the indictment relates was the driver of the scooter that was involved in the fatal accident at a railway crossing in Söråker on January 17 this year, where two girls in their teens died when the snowmobile crew they were traveling in collided with a train.

The driver said after the accident that the train was approaching the unguarded crossing when a scooter with a sledge approached from the left.

Two people are sitting on the scooter and two people are sitting in the sled.

At first, the train driver perceives it as if the snowmobile crew should stop at the crossing, but just when the snowmobile arrives at the crossing, the snowmobile driver accelerates and increases the speed.

The train driver states that he signals and emergency brakes the train but drives on the sled with the two passengers.

After a police investigation, the snowmobile driver was notified of suspicion of negligence in traffic and causing another person's death.

The technical investigations that have been done show that there was nothing wrong with the scooter or the train.
