Prior to the opening of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party and the Nippon Ishin no Kai will bring medicines containing stimulant ingredients to Japan as a special case only for athletes who are indispensable for the treatment of illness. I submitted a bill to the Diet to approve.

At the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, among overseas athletes scheduled to participate, those who are using drugs containing stimulant ingredients that are prohibited from being brought into Japan for the treatment of ADHD = attention deficit hyperactivity disorder There are about 10 people.

Based on the request from the IOC = International Olympic Committee, the Liberal Democratic Party, the Komeito Party, and the Nippon Ishin no Kai will bring or use this medicine only for athletes who must use this medicine during and before and after the Games. The bill was compiled and submitted to the House of Representatives on the 28th.

Initially, the bipartisan parliamentary federation was making adjustments to submit the bill, but it was pointed out that other drugs could be used instead, and there were some cautious opinions about the holding of the convention itself. It was submitted by 3 parties.

One of the submitters, former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the Liberal Democratic Party, said, "It is a bill that is absolutely necessary for holding the tournament, and it is our responsibility to create an environment where athletes can participate without obstacles."
