The promotion conference announced the latest excavation progress of the 6 sacrificial pits at the Sanxingdui site.

  Up to now, 534 important cultural relics such as ivory, bronze, gold, jade and nearly 2,000 fragments of broken cultural relics have been unearthed from six sacrificial pits in Sanxingdui.

The ivory extraction work in the sacrificial pits 3 and 4 has been basically completed. The next step will be to excavate the many exposed bronzes; the 5th pit is special, with many scattered round gold foils. After consultation with experts, it was decided to carry out partial experiments on it. Room archaeology; the "wood box" of pit 6 is also ready to be extracted as a whole; pit 7 has opened up a small exploratory area, and dense ivory has been found under the fill; pit 8 has been found in the ash layer of nearly 20 cm Various fragments of trees, gold objects, copper masks, etc. At the same time, a newly unearthed fragment of a golden mask, the outlines of ears and mouth are clearly visible.
