Three years in prison, including 18 months suspended.

This is the sentence handed down this Friday at first instance by the Marseille Criminal Court against Marseille Senator Jean-Noël Guérini, tried in a case of rigged public contracts.

The former strongman of the Socialist Party of Bouches-du-Rhône was also sentenced to a fine of 30,000 euros and five years of deprivation of civil and civil rights.

A deferred deposit warrant was issued against his brother Alexandre, sentenced to six years in prison.

Alexandre Guérini will have to present himself in prison.

He was further banned from running a business for five years and was deprived of his civic rights during the same period.
