At the end of the week, the rules of the federal emergency brake only apply in three districts and three major cities in Hesse.

They include a night curfew.

But for one of this sextet, the emergency brake ends on Sunday.

The state is downgrading the city of Offenbach to its level one of the easing.

As a result, the hosts in the neighboring city of Frankfurt are again allowed to serve guests outside, whereby a fresh negative corona test is required.

Shopping in fashion stores, for example, is possible via "Click and Meet" without the need for a test.

Two households plus vaccinated people are allowed to meet.

Further relaxation rules can be found here.

In the meantime, Frankfurt has just exceeded the threshold value of 50 that was undershot the day before.

The hope that outdoor swimming pools, for example, could open a few days earlier than previously planned should therefore be gone. According to the "Federal Emergency Brake", five working days below the mark or 14 below the mark of 100 would be required. According to the current state of affairs, Frankfurt should meet the latter at the beginning of the week after next June 7th or 8th.

In addition to Darmstadt and Frankfurt, 13 of the 21 districts are on the first level, including Bergstrasse, the Gießen district, the Groß-Gerau district, the Offenbach district and the Main-Kinzig district. The districts of Darmstadt-Dieburg, Hochtaunus, Main-Taunus, Vogelsberg and Wetterau have already been included in the second stage. There, guests with a negative test are also allowed to eat and drink in restaurants, shopping with a mask alone is generally possible. For the hotel industry and tour operators, too, this level brings significant progress for their everyday business, which has been largely idle for months.

However, the new data from the Robert Koch Institute only partially match this good news. 656 new corona infections recorded overnight mean stagnation compared to Friday a week ago. At the time, the RKI had reported three fewer cases. After zero deaths in connection with the pandemic, the institute now reports 23. The incidence, the key indicator, has fallen from 75 to a good 48 within a week. However, only Thuringia and Baden-Württemberg currently have more new infections among 100,000 inhabitants that became known within the past seven days. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, with an incidence of 19, and Schleswig-Holstein, which has an index number of 21, do the best.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 285,572 people in Hesse have officially contracted the Covid-19-causing corona virus. That is 4.4 percent of the country's population. According to the RKI, around 11,700 infections are not yet cured, around 300 fewer than the day before. 7,305 people died from or with the virus.
