INTERVIEW

There are those who were there, those who were not, those who would have gone if they could and those who would not have gone instead of others.

On May 19, the police inter-union organized a demonstration in front of the National Assembly, an event whose list of participants sparked debates and surprises.

Among those who joined the procession, actor Gérard Lanvin.

"I work a lot with the police," recalls Gérard Lanvin.

"When we make films like the

Lyonnais

, with the principles of thugs and cops, we are very happy to have them already on the set, and we are happy to go and train with them."

"I have respect for the police"

The actor specifies that it is at the request of certain police officers that he decided to come.

"They called me to ask me if I could come and support them, because at the beginning it was a tribute and a support after the ignoble execution of Eric Masson", he specifies, without pretending to 'ignore recent debates on police violence.

"There are bound to be bastards in the police, too, surely. But I do not mix and have respect for the police."

Gérard Lanvin prefers not to comment on the controversies that followed, including the reactions of the Parisian elected and candidate in Île-de-France Audrey Pulvar and that of the Minister of Justice Eric Dupont-Moretti.
