May 28, 2021 The national RT falls again, reaching 0.72 compared to 0.78 last week. The incidence is also decreasing: for the period 17-23 May, taken into consideration by the ISS, it turns out to be 51 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants compared to 73 last week, while according to the data of the Ministry of Health, referring to a different interval temporal, the incidence is 47 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. According to what is learned, these are the data on the progress of the coronavirus in Italy under examination by the control room for the monitoring of the Iss-Ministry of Health that will be presented today.
This week all Regions and Autonomous Provinces are classified as
low risk
according to the decree of 30 April 2020. All have an average Rt lower than 1, and therefore a transmissibility compatible with a type one scenario.
The situation of hospitalization of Covid patients in hospitals continues to improve: no region exceeds the critical threshold for occupancy of
beds in intensive care
or medical area. The employment rate in intensive care is below the threshold (15% compared to the value of 30% considered critical), with a decrease in the number of hospitalized people going from 1,689 (18/05/2021) to 1,323 (25/05 / 2021). The employment rate in medical areas still drops (14%, while the critical value is 40%). The
admissions
in these areas went from 11,539 to 8,577.
