This was stated by the chairman of the People's Council (parliament) of Syria, Hammuda Sabag, SANA reports.

"The victory in the elections was won by the incumbent President Bashar al-Assad, who received the support of 95.1% of voters", - quotes the words of Sabag TASS.

It is noted that the turnout was 78%, more than 14 million citizens took part in the elections.

Earlier it was reported that on May 26, it was decided to extend the voting in the presidential elections in Syria by five hours due to the high turnout.
