Sultan of Oman directs to release 2000 job opportunities in the government sector

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq directed to provide 2000 job opportunities in the government sector, in addition to providing one million hours for part-time work in government institutions in various sectors in the Sultanate of Oman, as reported by the Oman News Agency.

The agency added that a new set of operational initiatives had been launched, as part of the government's interest in providing job opportunities for job seekers, which terminated their services under the current stage conditions related to the repercussions of global economic conditions that resulted in a contraction in labor markets, in addition to the effects resulting from the spread of the Corona pandemic (Covid 19 ), As follows:

1. Providing a total of (2000) thousand job opportunities in the government sector under the temporary contract system, according to the actual needs of government institutions in the various governorates of the Sultanate.



2. Provide a total of one million hours for part-time work in government institutions in the various governorates of the Sultanate, and the Ministry of Labor will announce the controls and implementation mechanisms for that.



3. Supporting the wages of Omani new entrants to the labor market in the private sector by an amount of (200) two hundred Omani Rials, provided that the employer bears the agreed salary difference for (15,000) fifteen thousand job opportunities for a period of two years, and the Ministry of Labor will announce during next June For the necessary controls and operational mechanisms for that.



4. Disbursement of a monthly deducted subsidy from the Job Safety Fund in the amount of (202,500) two hundred riyals and five hundred baisa for a period of six months for self-employed workers insured with the General Organization for Social Insurance

Their actions affected by the economic situation and those of their kind, who numbered about (15,000) fifteen thousand.



5. Disbursing a monthly deducted subsidy from the Job Safety Fund in the amount of (202,500) two hundred riyals and five hundred baisa to the Omanis working in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for a period of six months.

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq directed the concerned authorities to speedily implement these operational initiatives.
