On Tuesday, the trial in the notorious kidnapping case of a well-known Swedish artist continued in April last year.

A total of 14 people are accused of involvement, of which rapper Yasin Mahamoud is suspected of instigating and planning a first kidnapping attempt that never materialized.

When the interrogations with the defendants began in the security room in Stockholm District Court, they all denied having participated in the act.

- I will not answer any questions and I deny the crime, says one of them at the prosecutor's hearing.

"I confronted him"

One of the accused says that he and the plaintiff artist have previously had a dispute about a girl.

In the prosecutor's evidence, he can be seen in the picture with the artist in the apartment in Vårberg at the time of the kidnapping.

He says he went to the home because he was told that the artist was there but denies involvement.

- I confronted him.

It was about a girl, quite unnecessary, he says and repeats "I use my right not to comment on it" on several of the questions concerning others involved.

"He was in good condition"

Another of the accused rappers, who was checked in a stopped car where the artist was also, says that he went to Vårberg to buy hashish that evening.

In connection with that, he must have met an acquaintance and been pushed back towards the city.

- He was in good condition, he was sitting in the car, he says about the artist.

When asked about other people, he repeats: "I will not comment on that".

"I have not planned anything"

In part of the prosecutor's supporting evidence, the perpetrators are linked to various clothing brands and other attributes to link them to the enchrochat material.

Several of the accused believe that the garments are common in their social circles and therefore can belong to anyone.

Anyone singled out for planning and ordering the kidnapping also denies the crime.

- I have not planned anything, I have not ordered anything, I have not tried to blackmail anyone and I have not sent a bomb, he says in court.

To the prosecutor's claim that he is behind one of the usernames in encrochat, he replies:

- I'm not the one who wrote these messages.

The interrogations continue on Thursday with, among others, the Grammy-nominated rappers Yasin Mahamoud and Haval Kahlil.
