In the night from Sunday to Monday, a 22-year-old woman was killed by several stab wounds in Hayange, in Moselle.

His companion, who had fled, was arrested on Monday.

The 23-year-old suspect had previously been sentenced to one year in prison for traffic offenses and had recently benefited from a modified sentence.

He was placed in house arrest under electronic surveillance (DDSE) in mid-May.

A handrail filed by the victim in January 2020

This Tuesday, the public prosecutor of Metz, Christian Mercuri, estimated that there had been no “dysfunction of the judicial services” which could have led to the death of the young woman.

"I do not think that at present we can speak of a dysfunction of the judicial services in this case", he declared during a press conference, while acknowledging that the victim had filed a main rule in January 2020 and a complaint in November 2020 against her spouse.
