The Supreme Judicial Committee for the Syrian Presidential Elections announced the start of electoral silence and the cessation of all forms of electoral advertising for candidates for the post of President of the Syrian Arab Republic, starting this morning.

The committee clarified, published by the Syrian News Agency "SANA", that according to the provisions of Article 58 of the General Elections Law of 2014 and its executive instructions, the electoral advertising will be stopped 24 hours before the date set for the elections, which will take place on the twenty-sixth of this month. Accordingly, the cessation of electoral advertising begins at seven o'clock in the morning. today is Tuesday.

A member of the Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections, Judge Mukhlis Qaisiya, stated in a statement to SANA that with the start of the electoral silence, the rhetoric festivals and popular celebrations for the candidates will stop, and it is not permissible for anyone to distribute programs, publications or other means after the election campaign has stopped by himself or through others. Electoral advertising.

As for the electoral centers, Qaisiya confirmed that they are fully ready in all governorates in preparation for the day of the presidential elections, as all the centers have been provided with logistical supplies, such as boxes, publications and secret ink, in addition to taking all precautionary measures to prevent the Corona virus from spacing and providing masks and sterilizers.

Qaisiya indicated that the sub-committees in the governorates have coordinated with the administrative authorities to determine the centers according to the population distribution and the geographical environment of each region, in order to facilitate access for citizens to fulfill their right to vote with ease and transparency.

On the tenth of this month, the Supreme Constitutional Court issued its decision to finally announce the list of candidates for the post of President of the Republic, namely Abdullah Salloum Abdullah, Bashar Hafez al-Assad and Mahmoud Ahmad Mari.
