China News Service, Beijing, May 25th, title: The epidemic is heating up, why did the DPP authorities dare not open the door to welcome the mainland vaccine?

Taiwan's local new crown pneumonia epidemic continues to rise.

The DPP authorities have repeatedly rejected the anti-epidemic support such as the new crown vaccine that the mainland is willing to provide, and it has to be questioned that it is disregarding people's livelihood.

At the beginning of the outbreak, there were fewer confirmed cases on the island.

The DPP authorities boast of meritorious "advance deployment".

With the rapid increase in confirmed cases and more than 3,500 new local cases in Taiwan in the past two weeks, the myth of the so-called "model student in epidemic prevention" is self-defeating.

In the face of the epidemic, medical experts generally believe that vaccination is an important measure to prevent the spread of the epidemic.

However, the Taiwan authorities, which have been chanting "advance deployment", are far behind on the vaccine issue. What's the cause?

Without him, it is just "political fight against the epidemic".

At the beginning of this year, the DPP authorities claimed to purchase about 30 million doses of vaccines for the public, including 4.76 million doses allocated by the World Health Organization’s “New Coronary Pneumonia Vaccine Implementation Plan” (COVAX) platform; 10 million doses of Aspen were purchased from abroad. Likang vaccine (AZ vaccine) and 5.05 million doses of American Modena vaccine, as well as approximately 10 million doses of vaccine produced in Taiwan.

So far, the authorities have only about 720,000 doses of the AZ vaccine. The Modena vaccine purchased from the United States has made no progress, and the launch of homemade vaccines by three Taiwanese companies is nowhere in sight.

Taiwanese media person Chen Chaoping recently wrote to the media that Taiwan-made vaccines will come out indefinitely, and there is no way to purchase vaccines in Europe and the United States. Purchasing vaccines from the mainland can not only slow down the epidemic in Taiwan, but also restart cross-strait dialogue and stabilize the situation in Taiwan. ?

The new crown vaccine developed by the mainland was officially launched in December last year.

At the beginning of this year, with the limited supply of its own vaccines, the mainland has repeatedly expressed its willingness to provide vaccines to support Taiwan compatriots in fighting the epidemic.

Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, has repeatedly stated in recent days that "willing to do our utmost to help Taiwan compatriots overcome the epidemic as soon as possible" and "willing to make assistance arrangements quickly."

The DPP authorities, who are determined to seek "independence" with the epidemic, have distorted the goodwill of the mainland to support the fight against the epidemic, and refused the entry of vaccines from the mainland on the pretext of "China's vaccines are not safe." The Mainland Affairs Commission also called "the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council" for its concern. Don’t be kind to the other side”, completely ignoring the Taiwanese people’s calls for opening up the mainland’s vaccine imports over the past few days.

In sharp contrast, mainland vaccines are popular in many countries and regions around the world.

According to statistics, as of May 23, mainlanders have received more than 500 million doses of the new crown vaccine.

The new crown vaccine developed by Sinopharm Group has been urgently authorized by the WHO.

In addition, as of May 17, the mainland has also provided vaccine assistance to more than 80 countries and 3 international organizations, and exported vaccines to more than 50 countries.

The rejection of mainland vaccines from entering Taiwan based on the so-called vaccine safety concerns is obviously an excuse for the "political anti-epidemic" of the DPP authorities.

The prevention and control of infectious diseases is a science, and the new crown virus is not political.

The out-of-control situation of the local epidemic in Taiwan is like a magic mirror. It not only shows the DPP authorities' disregard for the welfare of the people and political operations, but also shows their unwillingness to improve cross-strait relations from beginning to end.

Today, the epidemic is heating up, and the "political anti-epidemic" has caused a series of harm to Taiwanese society: the people are panicked, the tourist hotel industry has been hit, and the shortage of water and electricity is even worse... The last thing the DPP authorities should not do at this time It is precisely the blind political operation that continues to drag the people and society of Taiwan into the abyss where the epidemic is even more out of control.
