A 32-year-old man from Upplands Väsby was arrested on Friday on suspicion of attempted murder and serious gun crime in connection with the shooting on Rådmansgatan in Eskilstuna on 10 May.

The man and the previously arrested 34-year-old are both suspected of the same crime in connection with the shooting.

- I can not say much more than that two men are in custody on suspicion of attempted murder in the current shooting.

It is too early to say how good the chances are of bringing charges, but both are detained for probable cause, which is the higher degree of suspicion when it comes to detention, says chief prosecutor Marcus Ekman.

The prosecutor does not want to comment on who the plaintiff is - not even if the suspects belong to the same criminal network.

Connection to fire attacks

The arrest of the 34-year-old is suspected to have motivated the fire attacks in Eskilstuna, but whether the 32-year-old may have been involved in the fire attacks is nothing that has emerged from the investigation, says Marcus Ekman, who does not want to comment on possible motives for the shooting in Råbergstorp.

- This investigation will take some time, and no decision on the prosecution issue is expected to be made within the next few weeks.
