Christopher Marlowe (S) says he feels a responsibility to make his place available.

This is due to the current political situation which means that he no longer has a political majority.

This is after the Center Party is no longer in the majority cooperation.

- I am happy to stand up and lead the municipality through the changes required, but I can not do it without a political majority who want the same thing.

My hope is that a majority in the municipal council is willing to let us go, says the Social Democratic municipal councilor Christopher Marlowe to SVT Västmanland.

It was just over five months ago that the politician took office as municipal councilor in Surahammar.

- One of my main goals is to alleviate the fuss and work a little more to agree and solve problems across party lines.

To stop throwing pies to find the best ways forward together for the municipality and the inhabitants, he then told SVT Västmanland.

Now the Surahammar politician believes that his request for dismissal is the only way to go.

- What is with the political situation is that the Center Party is not prepared to make the changes we need. It's just fuss now. My decision sounds unorthodox but the idea is that it leads to stability. I will stand again if we get a majority, he says.
