According to the indictment, the rapper Yasin tried to trick the other famous artist into a studio in the spring of 2020. The plan was, according to the indictment, that the artist would then be kidnapped.

As evidence, the prosecutor has, among other things, presented conversations from the hacked encryption service Encrochat, which will show how the abduction was planned.

Risks long punishment

The criminal classification is stamping for kidnapping or preparation for kidnapping - this is because the planned kidnapping did not take place at the time.

Should Yasin be convicted of the crime, he risks between 4 and 18 years in prison.

- If you have prepared for the crime, you can receive as severe a punishment as for the crime itself.

18 years in prison is the maximum sentence, but it is a wide range of penalties and rare with such harsh penalties for this type of crime, says criminologist Jerzy Sarnecki.

Yasin's defenders have previously stated that he denies any wrongdoing.

In the interrogations held with him, he has been silent.

- My client has chosen not to leave any comments at all, said lawyer Frida Wallin when prosecution was brought just over a month ago.

Kidnapped two weeks later

The famous rap artist that Yasin is said to have planned to kidnap was abducted, beaten, and pressured for money just over two weeks later.

However, Yasin is not suspected of involvement in that case.

Yasin has been in custody since the turn of the year.

At the same time as he was detained, he won several awards at the P3 Gold Gala, something that aroused debate.
