On board the cable car, which crashed yesterday in Stresa, after leaving from the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore to reach Mottarone at 1500 meters above sea level, there were fifteen people. Fourteen died, only one child was saved in very serious conditions and hospitalized in prognosis reserved for Regina Margherita of Turin. Five families destroyed by the accident: three residents in Lombardy, one of them of Israeli origin. A family residing in Emilia Romagna and one in Calabria.

Roberta Pistolato, just yesterday she had turned forty. And he had sent a last message to his sister shortly before departure: "We are going up to the cable car". Together with her husband, Angelo Vito Gasparro, 45, they resided in Castel San Giovanni, in the province of Piacenza, where they both worked, but they were both originally from Bari.The couple was on a trip to Lake Maggiore precisely to celebrate her birthday. . The family in Puglia, however, has not heard from her since 11, when the woman sent the last text message to her sister. Roberta was fresh from her studies in medicine and worked as a medical guard at the Piacenza ASL. In recent months, he was part of the teams that had given their availability to carry out the vaccination campaign, both in the hubs and at home.

Serena Cosentino, 27, was originally from Diamante (Cosenza) but had moved to Verbania a few months after winning a competition as a research fellow at the CNR Institute for Water Research. Her fiancé Mohammadreza Shahaisavandi, 23, from Iran, was also with her on the cable car. He too was a resident of Diamante, but he lived in Rome where he studied. The boy had gone to visit his girlfriend in Verbania and together they had gone on a trip to the Mottarone. Serena had celebrated her birthday on May 4th.

With them were also grandmother Barbara Cohen Konisky from 1950 and grandfather Itshak Cohen from 1939, who had come from Israel to spend the holidays with their grandchildren.

On board the cable car there were also their partner Elisabetta Persanini, born in 1983, and their little 5-year-old son, who died shortly after arriving at the hospital in Turin, where he had been transported in very serious conditions.



In reserved prognosis the surviving child


The conditions of the 5-year-old child who survived the accident of the Mottarone cable car remain serious. Admitted to the Regina Margherita children's hospital in Turin, after yesterday's surgery the prognosis remains confidential. At the moment the baby is intubated and sedated. In the hospital, late yesterday evening, the aunt of the child arrived, the sister of the father who died in the accident with his wife and other two-year-old son.

Thus, outside the Regina Margherita children's hospital in Turin, Aya Biran, aunt of the only child who survived the Mottarone cable car accident in which, among the 14 victims, there are the parents and the little brother. The woman reached Turin late yesterday evening. Doctor in a prison in the Pavia area, he does not unbalance his nephew's conditions, which remain critical. "We do not know what the direction will be, the trauma suffered includes a head injury, we have to see how the situation will evolve", he merely says. When she arrived in Turin, at the Regina Margherita Children's Hospital, it was late at night.Aya Biran is the aunt of the only five-year-old boy who survived the cable car tragedy, where the child's mother, father, two-year-old brother and grandparents died.
