“As you know, the main threat to the population of the Amur tiger, all animals in the Khabarovsk Territory is poaching,” said Chuychenko.

He added that expert work is the most important component in the investigation of criminal cases, the subject of which is crime in the field of wildlife.

It is clarified that at present, specialists are forced to send biological materials in the event of the death of Amur tigers and other Red Book animals to the nearest center in the city of Ussuriisk in the Primorsky Territory.

In April, the prosecutor's office began checking reports on the death of the Red Book Amur tiger in the Khabarovsk Territory.

According to the Amur Tiger Center, a decapitated body of an adult male Amur tiger was found near the village of Arsenyevo, Nanaisky District.

Presumably, the head could be separated for sale or to hide gunshot wounds.

The animal's body was sent to the Ussuri laboratory for examination.
