There was a persistent rain over Hallsberg on 5 to 7 September 2015. The water did not have time to drain away and 400 properties were damaged.

Länsförsäkringar Bergslagen has customers who were affected in the area and sued Hallsberg at the Land and Environmental Court at Nacka District Court.

The company claimed that the damage was caused due to the municipality's water system being undersized.

But the case was never taken to court, instead the parties have now agreed on a settlement, something Nerikes Allehanda was the first to report on.

Must pay SEK 12.5 million

In the settlement agreement, Hallsberg undertakes to pay SEK 12.5 million to Länsförsäkringar Bergslagen no later than 10 June this year.

The parties are to bear their own costs.
