It was on 15 July last year that the men were on an annual fishing trip and landed by helicopter in the Välijåkkå area.

However, the company encountered a patrol when a supervisor from the County Administrative Board caught them in the act when they tried to get a pacifier in quota fishing water.

Denied but convicted of violating the Fisheries Act

All three have in interrogation admitted that they lacked the correct permit but denied the crime.

Due to the police officer's employment, Martin Tidén, chief prosecutor at the Special Prosecutors' Chamber, has conducted the investigation and Gällivare District Court is following his line.

They are convicted of violating the Fisheries Act with a daily fine as a penalty - in the case of the police officer, it is an amount of a total of 12,300 kronor.
