Their journey ends in the pouring rain.

After two and a half months of travel and almost 2,000 kilometers on foot, members of the Indigenous Women's Movement for Good Living, representing

26 indigenous peoples

, finally arrive in Buenos Aires.

They bring with them an offering, medicinal plants from their territories, which they burn to cure the ills of society.

In these times of systemic crisis, we must find a harmonious relationship with nature.

Promote ancestral medicine.

Because we will not be able to produce a vaccine against 'terricide',

”says one of them.

"

Extractivism is killing us

"

This "

terricide

" that they denounce is

the systematic aggression of nature

, the fires which ravage Patagonia, the desertification of soils due to intensive agriculture, or the major mining projects which destroy ecosystems and affect their spiritual life.

Briseida Lejo came from the province of Santa Fé, in the north of the country.

“

Despite the pandemic, we had to mobilize because we are also experiencing a humanitarian emergency.

The

extractivism

is killing us

, "she testifies.

In conclusion, they sing a traditional song in chorus.

Tears in their eyes, tight against each other, they promise to come back even more next year.
