23 May 2021 More than one in ten Italians (11%) has already booked their summer holidays with the advancement of the vaccination campaign, the reduction of infections and the definition of the reopening program.

This is what Coldiretti affirms on the basis of the Noto polls survey disclosed on the occasion of the passage of the entire Peninsula in the yellow zone.

With regard to the destinations - underlines Coldiretti - 34% have already decided for a seaside resort that remains in first place, followed this year by the countryside, natural parks and countryside oases that with 11% exceed the mountain (9 %), places of art (4%) and lakes (2%). However, the destination is still uncertain - specifies Coldiretti - for as many as 36% of Italians. A trend confirmed by the fact that if half of Italians (50%) would like to have a second home by the sea, there is 18% who would like it in the countryside that is positioned in front of the mountain (17%)

In addition to national tourism, there are also encouraging prospects for foreign tourism thanks to the overcoming of the quarantine and the arrival of the green pass which affects over 28 million citizens from the European Union, the Schengen area, Great Britain and Israel, which before the pandemic had come to Italy during the summer with a tourist expenditure of 11.5 billion for accommodation, food, transport, entertainment, shopping and souvenirs, according to Coldiretti elaborations on Bank of Italy data relating to the period from July to September in 2019. Yes this is a positive sign after last summer arrivals from these countries dropped by 43% which - underlines Coldiretti - adds to the positive evolution that contagions seem to have in the United States, whose citizens are historically the most present non-EU tourists in Italy. Among the new trends of the 2021 holiday in Italy there is food and wine tourism which is worth over 5 billion and which, precisely with the pandemic - underlines Coldiretti - has found a further boost ".
