According to British Foreign Secretary Priti Patel, the border will be managed electronically, which, according to the Kingdom's authorities, "will make it easier for businesses to navigate, while allowing ... precise control of people entering and leaving the country."
This is expected to improve the system for identifying “potential threats”.
Under the new rules, those wishing to come to the UK without a visa or immigration status will have to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
A similar system applies when entering the United States.
