March 12, 2019 New York State Attorney General Letitia James has opened a civil investigation into the activity of the Trump Organization: the New York Times reports, revealing that the top management of Deutsche Bank and Investor Bank had to present related documents to finance at least four of the Foundation's main projects.

Several people would also have been heard.

The investigations into the Trump Organization, reports the NYT, also concern the efforts, which later failed, to acquire in 2014 a team of the NFL, the professional league of American football, that of the Buffalo Bills, of the state of New York. The investigators are especially scrutinizing Deutsche Bank, one of the few banks willing to lend money to Donald Trump in recent years. The German bank is already in the crosshairs of two Congressional investigations and was under scrutiny by the New York banking authority last year, although no action was taken. The new investigation of the offices of Attorney Letitia James would have sprung from the testimony in Congress of Michael Cohen, the former lawyer of Trump. Cohen, among other things, told under oath that the tycoon would have inflated the value of his assets in financial statements submitted to Deutsche Bank, providing copies of the latter.
