A controller and a driver of the SNCF were violently assaulted on Tuesday at Béziers station (Hérault).

According to a tweet from the Hérault prefecture, a passenger "refusing to wear his mask" is suspected of having insulted the controller and violently assaulted the driver, who would have intervened.

In a press release, the CGT of Béziers notes that the agents are "extremely shocked by this new aggression which unfortunately confirms the analysis made during this period on the deterioration of their working conditions".

The SNCF indicates this Wednesday morning, on its Twitter thread dedicated to the TER network in Occitania, that "many agents have filed a work stoppage", without notice.

TER traffic will be "very disturbed" this Wednesday in Occitania.

"On behalf of the entire SNCF group, I would like to express our solidarity with our two colleagues and their families," wrote Philippe Bru, the regional director of SNCF in Occitanie, this Wednesday morning, on his Twitter account.

We share the strong feelings of the teams and strongly condemn this act.
