A school bus, with only the driver on board, and a car collided at an intersection, reports L'Est Républicain.

The light vehicle was thrown into a field below.

Inside, the motorist, a young volunteer firefighter from the area, was seriously injured.

He had to be helicoptered to Nancy hospital.

As for the driver of the bus, he was slightly affected and did not need to be evacuated.

An investigation has been opened to determine the reasons for this accident.
