China News Service, Beijing, May 19 (Reporter Yang Zhe) As everyone knows, Deng Xiaoping is hailed as the chief architect of China's reform, opening up and modernization.

In his early revolutionary years, an nickname of "Doctor Mimeo" recorded his years of studying in France.

So, why did he get his name at that time?

Before and after the May Fourth Movement, China faced the perilous situation, and all kinds of thoughts came together to seek a way to save the country.

In China, the Communist Party of China was born in 1921.

In the European continent far away from China, the Chinese Youth Communist Party in Europe was born in 1922 (later renamed the Chinese Communist Youth League in Europe).

Deng Xiaoping, who studied in France, also became one of them.

In August 1922, the "Young Communist" monthly magazine "Youth" was launched. Not long after that, Deng Xiaoping was transferred to the magazine and was responsible for the carvings. He became the youngest member of the editorial department and was responsible for spreading communism and unity. The important task of young people living in Europe.

During the day, he worked and studied at night for engraving work every day. Although living in a shabby room and the conditions are difficult, his enthusiasm for work is unabated.

He would engrave the manuscript stroke by stroke on wax paper, then print it out with a simple printing machine, and then bind it up.

In February 1924, "Youth" was renamed "Red Light".

Deng Xiaoping devoted great efforts to "Red Light".

His serious work attitude left a deep impression on the people studying in France together.

Because his writing is neat and beautiful, the publication is clearly printed and the binding is simple and elegant, he is praised by people around him as "Dr. Mimeo".

This is not only a praise and affirmation of Deng Xiaoping's hard work, but also an encouragement to young revolutionaries.

With the joint efforts of Deng Xiaoping and a group of revolutionaries, "Red Light" was run lively and in various forms. The articles were short and succinct, and were well-received. It was highly praised by the Chinese in Europe as "the pioneer of our struggle."

From the second half of 1924, Deng Xiaoping began to take on the editorial work of "Red Light", wrote a large number of articles, and contributed to the revolutionary work with his pen.

In revolutionary practice, Deng Xiaoping quickly grew up, and later served as the leader of the Chinese Communist Youth League in Europe, and formally became a member of the European Branch of the Communist Party of China, joined the Communist Party of China, and since then shared his life with the history of the Chinese nation. The processes are closely linked.

Looking back on Deng Xiaoping's experience, his revolutionary career started from the "Doctor of Mimeo" during the newspaper period.

The title of "Dr. Mimeo" records the early years of CCP leaders' struggle to save the country, and it also allows people to see that the Chinese Communists attach great importance to propaganda.

As early as the founding of the party, the Communist Party of China deeply realized that the work of propaganda and public opinion is an important front linking the masses of the people.

Of the 13 representatives attending the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, 12 had run newspapers and publications before and after the founding of the Communist Party of China.

General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that doing a good job in the party's news and public opinion work and creating a good public opinion environment are major tasks in governing the country and stabilizing the country.

In the hundred-year history of the Communist Party of China, news and propaganda have always been a clarion call and a powerful ideological weapon for mobilizing the masses.

With the rapid development of communication technology, it is still necessary to carry forward the spirit of "Mimeo Doctor", do a good job in propaganda work, and undertake the mission of raising the banner, gathering people's hearts, cultivating newcomers, invigorating culture, and exhibiting image.
