In France, the police are meeting this Wednesday afternoon in front of the National Assembly in Paris after the murder of their colleague Éric Masson, on May 5 in Avignon.

A large part of the political class intends to go to this rally, including the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, who considers that “the

anger of the police is legitimate

”.

But his presence is debated.

Aurore Bergé

I don't see how we can blame the incumbent Minister of the Interior for coming to his family, to the police, to simply assert the support that the State has for them afterwards. tragic events like those in

Rambouillet

or those in Avignon,

 ”she commented.

This is not what the police are waiting for, for his part believes the Republican deputy Damien Abad.

What an admission of helplessness if it is to come and demonstrate even though we are in charge,

" he said.

I think that the police, what they expect from this government and this power in place, are concrete acts and actions in favor of the police.

"

Alexis Corbière goes further.

For the elected Insubordinate, the presence of the Minister of the Interior is "

 funny

 " and "

incomprehensible

 ":

"

If the laws don't move fast enough, who's fault is it

 ?"

To Monsieur Darmanin.

If the working conditions of the police have deteriorated, who is to blame

 ?

To the Minister of the Interior.

And the trade unions should still find it a little strange that whoever is perhaps at the initiative of their problems ends up like a fish in the water tomorrow in this demonstration.

 "

The deputy denounces a "

political recovery

" one year from the presidential election.

The rebels will not attend this gathering, as will some of the environmentalists.

The main parties concerned are asking for a more severe and rapid criminal response for those who attack the police.

Rather rare, all the police unions call for mobilization on Wednesday.
