According to reports, sources said that at about 5:30 local time on the 16th, three men attacked and robbed a 41-year-old passenger on the Metro Line 6 running north of Manhattan.
About three hours later, another passenger who took the Brooklyn F line subway to work was threatened with guns by three men.
They took the passenger's cell phone and cash and fled.
The man reported the crime after he went to work.
The third incident occurred around 9:36 that day.
The police said the victim had bruises, swelling and cuts on his face after the attack, but he refused to seek medical attention.
The suspect has been detained.
