The Israeli occupation planes continued to bomb the Gaza Strip for the ninth day in a row, targeting a government compound and other sites early Tuesday morning.

Al-Jazeera correspondent Hisham Zaqout said that violent Israeli raids targeted the Ansar government compound in the al-Katibah neighborhood, west of Gaza City, as well as an apartment that includes an office for prisoners' affairs, and also bombed the al-Katibah Park in the same area.

At the same time, Israeli gunboats bombarded the coast of Gaza City with a number of rockets.

The pace of the Israeli bombardment has slowed compared to the previous nights, but the aggression continues amid reports that the truce negotiations have stalled.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the death of 212 Palestinians - including 61 children and 36 women - and the injury of 1,400 different wounds as a result of the continuous aggression on the Strip since the tenth of May.

On the other hand, the official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that an Israeli soldier was wounded by a mortar shell that landed at one of the sites in the vicinity of Gaza.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, published a video clip, Monday evening, showing the firing of mortar shells at crowds of occupation soldiers in the Gaza envelope.

The assassination of a field commander

Yesterday, in a statement, the movement announced the martyrdom of the commander of the Northern Brigade in the Al-Quds Brigades, Hussam Abu Harbid, while he was "moving between the fields of jihad and the frontiers of confrontation and following the course of resistance operations in the northern Gaza Strip," where his car was targeted in an Israeli raid.

In a statement, the occupation army confirmed the targeting of Abu Harbeed, and said that "he was a leader in the organization for more than 15 years, and was behind several anti-tank missile attacks against Israeli civilians ... he led the continuous launching of rockets against Israel and firing at IDF soldiers."

Yesterday, the Israeli army also announced that it had targeted 9 homes of senior leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) used for "storing weapons," he said.

The Palestinian resistance factions - including Hamas and Islamic Jihad - have fired more than 3,100 rockets at Israeli sites and cities since the start of the current confrontation, which is the highest frequency of rockets launched against Israel, according to what the Israeli army announced on Sunday.

US-Israeli communications

On the other hand, the White House said that US President Joe Biden, in a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Monday evening, expressed his support for the ceasefire, but the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that Netanyahu informed him that he is determined to "complete the goal" of this process.

Al-Jazeera correspondent Elias Karam indicated that Israeli sources stated that Netanyahu wants two or 3 days before ending his campaign in order to achieve any military achievement that enables him to emerge victorious.

On the other hand, the US website Axios said that the Biden administration did not give Israel any deadline to reach a ceasefire in Gaza.

But the site quoted an Israeli official as saying that Washington's general message in Biden and Netanyahu's call is that it supports Israel but wants to end the operation in Gaza.

The official added that the Biden administration had made clear that its ability to curb international pressure on Israel over the Gaza operation had come to an end.
