The district court acquitted the business leader Karl Hedin and the three co-defendants on all points in the aforementioned hunting crime case.

The prosecutor then appealed the verdict regarding the hunt for wolves in 2018 - but Karl Hedin was not satisfied with the decision and appealed the appeal.

- We think that with regard to the verdict that Västmanland District Court came with, where the reasons for the verdict are very clear and it has been found that the prosecutor's evidence is not enough, that it is remarkable that the prosecutor has appealed, said Karl Hedin's lawyer Sven Severin to TT when the appeal was filed .

According to Sven Severin, the appeal to the Court of Appeal only means that the case is further dragged on, as the prospects that the verdict will be changed in the Court of Appeal are largely non-existent.

The Chief Prosecutor has now taken a position on the request that the prosecutor's appeal be withdrawn.

In the decision, Chief Prosecutor Astrid Eklund writes that she reviewed the case and believes that Chamber Prosecutor Lars Magnusson was justified in his assessment that the verdict should be appealed.

"There is therefore no reason to change the prosecutor's decision," it says in the decision announced on 17 May.
