• Farewell to Franco Battiato, eclectic singer-songwriter: music loses a great Maestro

May 18, 2021 The news of the death of Franco Battiato, who died at dawn today in his home in Milo in the province of Catania, aroused great emotion and countless reactions in the world of entertainment, music and politics.


The

. The confirmation came later from the mayor of Milo, Alfio Cosentino. "Franco was a friend,

"He came here after Franco Battiato, who was born in Jonia (name of the municipalities Giarre and Riposto). Milo evidently was a mystical place to have been chosen by him:from his house you could see a glimpse of the port of Giardini Naxos and the dome of the church of Riposto ".

The funeral of the artist, who has been ill for some time, will be held privately. Meanwhile, there

The artist from Catania has composed 42 albums in his long career. On 21 September this year, the fortieth anniversary of "La voce del padrone" would be celebrated, the record by Franco Battiato which, in Italy, was the first to exceed one million copies sold.
