The court in Moscow extended the arrest of the ex-head of the Penza region Belozertsev

“The court ruled to satisfy the investigator’s petition,” said Judge Yevgenia Pirogova.

Belozertsev will remain in jail until August 20.

At the end of March, the court seized the money and property of Belozertsev and businessman Boris Shpigel.

At the end of March, it became known about the arrest of Belozertsev in the case of a bribe in the amount of more than 31 million rubles.

A criminal case was initiated against Belozertsev, head of the BIOTEK group of pharmaceutical companies, Boris Shpigel, and others.

They were later arrested. The former governor's defense admits that he received 20 million rubles from Spiegel, but claims that the money was intended for the election campaign.
