“For his great contribution to ensuring the activities of the President of Russia and many years of conscientious work, to award the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, I degree, to Yuri Yakovlevich Chaika, the Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the North Caucasus Federal District,” the statement says.

Beglov received the Order of the II degree "for his great contribution to the social and economic development of St. Petersburg and many years of conscientious work."

The day before, it was reported that Putin extended the term of the civil service to the plenipotentiary in the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD) Yuri Chaika until May 21, 2022.
