May 18, 2021 "Eight hubs available to young people starting in July and without age groups: the goal is to extend the success of the open day and immunize boys and girls who want to spend their their holidays in serenity ".

This is what the Lazio Region says on twitter.

Lazio will therefore go ahead with the 'Open Days', with a focus on the students expected this summer from the final exams. Lazio, fresh from the success recorded last weekend with the administration of AstraZeneca to the over 40s, is ready to repeat the initiative as early as next weekend. In addition, the Region is preparing to reserve 1, 2 and 3 June for high school graduates. "Vaccinating them is now possible and we will do it - announces the governor Nicola Zingaretti -. It is right to think of girls and boys who are facing this test, after two difficult years also for study and social life". Not only Lazio obviously aims to expand the target of vaccinated. The extraordinary commissioner for the Covid emergency, General Figliuolo, has already given the green light to the Regions to open up to the 40-49 age group. The goal in the coming weeks, characterized by more and more reopening and with the summer approaching, is to complete the vaccinations of the over 70s while injecting the first doses to the youngest.

At the moment there are fewer than 5 million people under 50 vaccinated (from 16 to 49 years old), while immunized people are 8,714,403, 14.7% of the population. However, from Thursday to Saturday the vaccination campaign traveled quickly, for three days in a row the target of 500 thousand daily administrations was exceeded: Thursday 515,621 doses were injected, Friday 518,865 while Saturday reached the peak of 522,700 inoculations. On the coverage front, then, the CTS is studying the hypothesis of a further extension of the second dose of Pfizer and Moderna serums compared to the current duration of the booster (already recently extended to 42 days). Furthermore,a reasoning will be launched on the duration and coverage of the vaccination pass which will in any case have to take into account the decisions of the other EU countries for a line of conduct that must be 'uniform'.

In particular, two points are considered: on the duration of six months, which could be extended, given that there are those - like doctors - who received the vaccine at the beginning of the year, and on the actual coverage. At the moment, in fact, a double dose of vaccine is expected for the pass but it could be evaluated the possibility of issuing it even before the recall. As for the duration, the hypothesis on which we are thinking is to extend it from six to nine months, so as to cover the summer season of major tourism even for those who got vaccinated at the beginning of the year. In terms of distribution, to the 30 million doses already delivered, another 3 million will now be added to the delight of those Regions that complain of a shortage of vials. "The vaccination campaign in Veneto is going very well",for example, underlines the governor of Veneto Luca Zaia, highlighting the fact that it could go at an even faster pace but "we lack vaccines, 200 thousand are few for a week, we could do them in two days". Zaia then recalls that "maximum availability" was given to vaccinate Italian and also foreign tourists: "If it is a service to be given, we want to do it first". In Lombardy, in the meantime, bookings for the 40-49 year-old range will open from Thursday with administration from early June. The following Thursday (27 May) will therefore be the turn of the 30-39 range and, finally, on 2 June all over 16 will be able to make an appointment. In the same days in Lazio the graduates will already be vaccinated. The Region announced this by presenting record-breaking data from the Open Day reserved for over 40s."An audience of more than 20 thousand users was satisfied without gatherings" the words of the councilor for health, Alessio D'Amato -. We made a total of 158,276 administrations in three days, 26% higher than the target value assigned by the commissioner ".
