The Palestinian areas on both sides of the Green Line witnessed a general and comprehensive strike, today, Tuesday, to condemn the Israeli war on Gaza, the attacks in Jerusalem, and the racist army against Arab citizens within the Green Line.

The strike comes in response to a call by the High Follow-up Committee for Palestinian Arab Affairs within the Green Line to all citizens in cities, villages and towns, urging them to enter into a comprehensive strike today, Tuesday.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that a comprehensive strike took place today, Tuesday, in the governorates of the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the 48 territories, "to denounce the continued Israeli aggression against our Palestinian people."

She explained that the strike included all aspects of commercial and educational life, including private and public institutions, schools and universities closed their doors, as well as banks, and public transport stopped.

The Arab National Democratic Assembly in Israel called for the success of the strike declared by the High Follow-up Committee, which was joined by the active national forces of the Palestinian people in all places of their presence.

The gathering stressed "the need to continue the struggle against the massacres and war crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, against the projects of Judaization and displacement in Jerusalem and the aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and against the policy of oppression, oppression and persecution that Israel implements against our people at home."

The Fatah movement and the national and Islamic forces in the West Bank called on the Palestinians to turn out in protest rallies.

The Palestinian Cabinet decided that public sector employees would participate in the strike, as an expression of anger at the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, especially the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The Council excluded from the decision the Ministry of Health, local authorities and service institutions that will operate under the state of emergency system to continue providing their services to citizens.

For its part, the Israeli occupation forces continued to tighten security measures in all areas in anticipation of clashes at contact points in the West Bank and inside the Green Line areas.
