The Paris Bourse avoided risk-taking on Monday at mid-session, with concerns about inflation remaining on investors' minds, in a quiet session except for the cryptocurrency market.

Around 1:05 p.m., the CAC 40 continued to lose ground (-0.44%), i.e. a decline of 28.36 points to 6,356.78 points.

After an opening in small increase, the Parisian place quickly turned to the red abandoning three consecutive positive sessions.

Investors continue on the one hand to bet on the economic recovery favored by the success of the anti-Covid 19 vaccination campaigns but on the other, they keep in mind that an inflation slippage could cause a faster monetary tightening than expected.

Central bankers keep repeating that normalization of monetary policy is not imminent, but what if economic conditions continue to improve by the end of the year?

In this context, "the minutes of the monetary committee of the Fed (US central bank) will be peeled for the slightest sign of a change of tone" when they are published on Tuesday, said Neil Wilson, analyst at Markets.com.

Another opportunity to gauge the institution's state of mind, Fed Vice President Richard Clarida and Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic will take part in a conference.

Sanofi positive

The Sanofi action took 0.37% to 87.04 euros after positive results from a clinical trial on its main candidate vaccine against Covid-19, developed with the British GSK, after a first setback that had caused several months delay.

Carrefour at the head of the race

The title of the distribution giant gained 1.11% to 17.24 euros, the largest increase in the CAC 40. The food giant Danone followed suit (+ 1.27% to 58.29 euros).

The appointment of a new CEO of Danone was "imminent" Monday and the name of Antoine de Saint-Affrique held the cord to lead the group recently worn out by a governance crisis and the ousting of the former CEO Emmanuel Faber.

Aeronautics falters

In contrast, the Airbus title unscrewed (-2.36% to 97.22 euros), dragging Safran in its wake (-1.41% to 122.78 euros).

Stellantis suspense on a partnership

The automobile group, resulting from the recent merger of Peugeot-Citroën and Fiat-Chrysler, and the Taiwanese giant of the manufacture of electronic products Foxconn are to announce Tuesday a "strategic partnership".

The Stellantis title gained 0.44% to 14.92 euros.

Elior and Sodexo degraded

The titles Elior and Sodexo fell respectively 4.62% to 7.02 euros and 3.53% to 81.46 euros in the wake of a degradation of recommendation by Exane to "outperform" to "neutral".
