During the spring, the Malmö Festival has worked to adapt the corona to a possible upcoming festival. The event area would have been moved to Slottsparken, Kungsparken and Mölleplatsen in Malmö.
But now the organizer has decided to cancel the festivities.
"The time for planning has now become so short that it is no longer possible to carry out a festival," writes the Malmö Festival in a press release on Monday.

“We look forward to the summer of 2022 and hope that the world will then have had time to breathe out and gather.
Then the Malmö Festival will be the fantastic meeting place that we are used to being, ”says Andreas Schönström (S), chairman of the technical committee, in the press release.
"It is of course difficult to have to cancel this year again, but we must have respect for the current situation", says David Östberg, one of three project managers for the Malmö Festival, and continues: "There is a strong drive to make up for everything that we have missed together with the people of Malmö. ”

As for WorldPride and EuroGames in Malmö, they continue to cook according to location.
This means, among other things, that there will be no stage acts and that the programs will be both digital and physical when possible.
The parade will also be reworked and manifested in other ways.
