Robert de Niro heritage, on the brink of ruin
Robert de Niro
has not gotten off to a good start on filming his new movie
in Oklahoma,
under the orders of
Martin Scorsese,
who has lost one of his main stars - at least for now - after
injuring his leg
off the set last year. Thursday.
"I broke my quadriceps
. I stepped on something and fell," the interpreter explained to the
New York Post
. "The pain was unbearable and now I have to heal.
These things happen especially when you get older,
and you have to be prepared for these unforeseen events," he said.
The Oscar-winning actor suffered this injury while filming
Killers of the Flower Moon
,
Scorsese's
first
western
in which De Niro plays cattleman William Hale. "He is someone sedentary, I do not move much, thank God, so we
will manage," he
explained from New York, where he moved to receive medical attention. As the interpreter himself has very well revealed and one of his publicists has confirmed, this incident
will not affect production,
"since it was not scheduled to shoot for another three weeks."
The film has not been without its setbacks since it was given the green light to begin filming.
First,
Paramount refused
to take over the huge budget that the film handled;
Then it was
Leonardo DiCaprio - the protagonist
- who demanded a series of
changes
to Eric Roth's
script
and, in addition, the pandemic also forced the start of recording to be delayed.
With Leonardo DiCaprio, another of the film's protagonists.
The film is an adaptation of the novel by David Grann and
portrays the serial murders
suffered by the Osage tribe in Oklahoma during the 1920s due to the oil fields on their lands, crimes that were
investigated by the newly created FBI
in what it would be his first big case. Filming began a few weeks ago in locations such as Bartlesville, Pawhuska and Osage County, a project with a
budget of 200 million
dollars that is carried out by Apple Original Film, a platform that will broadcast the film that does not yet have a release date.
In addition to Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese has once again had his fetish actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as
Lily Gladstone
and
Jesse Plemons
.
The action is set in Gray Horse in 1919. DiCaprio plays Ernest Burkhart and Gladstone is Mollie, an Osage Indian who falls in love with Ernest.
De Niro plays landlord Hale, while Plemons will play Tom White, the FBI agent in charge of the investigation.
