The World Economic Forum, which hosts the Davos Conference, which brings together world political and business leaders, has announced that it will cancel what had been postponed this summer.

The reason is that the future of infection with the mutated coronavirus is uncertain and the vaccination status varies from country to country.

The World Economic Forum's annual meeting, commonly known as the "Davos Conference," is held every January in Switzerland with the participation of world political and business leaders. In response, it was postponed to August, and the venue was scheduled to move to Singapore and be held face-to-face.

On the 17th, the World Economic Forum announced that it would cancel the event.

As for the reason, he points out that the future of infection with the mutated virus is uncertain and that the vaccination status varies depending on the country or region.

On top of that, he commented that it became impossible to realize a conference where participants from all over the world gathered, "I decided that the health and safety of everyone was the highest priority."

The next Davos meeting will be held in the first half of next year, but the location and time will be decided by assessing the situation after the summer, reiterating the difficulty of resuming the large-scale international conference.
