Reuters reported that at least two people died and more than 100 people were injured when the seats of a synagogue collapsed in the west bank of the Jordan River yesterday (on the 16th) local time.

The Associated Press also cited Israeli emergency responders, saying yesterday that a grandstand collapsed in a synagogue in a Gaza settlement near Jerusalem, injuring dozens of people.

About 650 believers gathered in the synagogue yesterday to mark the start of the Seven Days, one of the Jewish feasts.

The synagogue where the accident occurred was still unfinished and construction was underway, and the event was enforced in the synagogue despite prior warnings of safety issues, police said.

This accident is only 15 days since the death of 45 people as believers gathered at a traditional Jewish festival held on Mount Melon in northern Israel on the 29th of last month.
